You're standing at the wooden Mother of God Church in Chotyniec, a small village near the border between Poland and Ukraine. A church like this is called a tserkva, a church of the Eastern rite. Take a good look at the timber. The whole building is made of wood, in a Gothic style, and it's on UNESCO's World Heritage List. Together with other wooden tserkvas, it belongs to the wooden churches of the Carpathian region in Poland and Ukraine.
