Europos geografinis centras in Vilniaus rajonas

You're standing at the geographical centre of Europe. Well, according to one French calculation, anyway. You're about twenty-five kilometres north-east of Vilnius, close to the little village of Girija. Look at the monument in front of you. It's a column of white granite, topped with a crown of stars. The sculptor Gediminas Jokūbonis designed it, and it has stood here since 2004.
