You're standing at Cardigan Castle, or Castell Aberteifi in Welsh. It sits above the River Teifi, right in the heart of the town of Cardigan. Have a look at those old walls over the water. They're what's left of the castle that Earl Gilbert of Pembroke rebuilt here in 1244, along with town walls for extra protection.
