You're standing on a low hill, about two and a half kilometres west of Armagh. This is Navan Fort, or Emain Macha in Old Irish. According to tradition, it was one of the great royal sites of pagan Ireland, and the capital of the Ulaidh, the people who gave Ulster its name.
