Conisbrough Castle in Doncaster

You're standing at Conisbrough Castle, on a rocky hill above the River Don in South Yorkshire. Start with that tall tower. That's the keep, about twenty-eight metres high. See the six massive buttresses around it? They turn a round tower into a hexagon. There's no other design quite like it in England, and historians have called it an architectural gem.
