You're standing at Didyma, close to the modern town of Didim on Turkey's west coast, among the remains of the temple of Apollo. First, take in the size. The temple is around 120 metres long and 60 metres wide. Only the temple of Artemis at Ephesus and the temple on Samos were bigger in the Greek world. The columns are almost 20 metres tall. Of the 122 columns, three are still standing.
