You're standing at Biskupin, on a marshy peninsula in Lake Biskupin, about eight kilometres south of the small town of Żnin. Take a look at that timber rampart and the tall palisade. It feels like a fairytale village, but it's a life-size reconstruction of a fortified settlement almost twenty-eight centuries old.
