You're standing on Place Stanislas in Nancy. One of the grand pavilions around this square holds the Musée des Beaux-Arts, one of the oldest museums in France. Start with the façade. That calm, classical front is part of the ensemble architect Emmanuel Héré designed in the mid-eighteenth century. He built it for Stanislas, once King of Poland and later Duke of Lorraine and Bar. The whole square is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
