Je staat bij de radiotoren van Gliwice, in de wijk Szobiszowice. Kijk eens goed naar die hoge, slanke toren. Hij is ruim honderd tien meter hoog en helemaal van hout gemaakt. Het is lariks uit Siberië, behandeld tegen rot en aan elkaar gezet met koperen verbindingsstukken. Daarmee is dit een van de hoogste houten bouwwerken ter wereld. Geen wonder dat de mensen hier hem de Silezische Eiffeltoren noemen.
