You're standing at what's left of Khtzkonk Monastery, in a gorge cut by the Digor River. The small town of Digor is close by, in Turkey's Kars Province, and the Armenian border is less than twenty kilometres away. In Turkish this place is called Beşkilise, which means five churches. That's exactly what used to be here.
