Monument Lion of Amphipolis in Amphipolis Municipality

You're standing at the Lion of Amphipolis, in northern Greece. Go on, look up. This marble lion sits upright on its haunches, and it is huge. Its body alone is more than four metres tall. Add the base and you're looking at over eight metres. The head is about two metres wide. It's even bigger and bulkier than the famous lion at Chaeronea, another Greek grave monument.
