Manasija Monastery in Despotovac Municipality

You're standing at Manasija Monastery, also known as Resava, tucked into a picturesque ravine about two kilometres from the little town of Despotovac. Start with those massive walls. This looks more like a castle than a monastery, and that's exactly the point. Eleven towers guard the grounds. Most are rectangular, but see if you can spot the two hexagonal ones. The biggest, just north of the church, is called the Despot's Tower.
