You're standing at Tartu's Old Observatory. In Estonian it's called Tartu Tähetorn, the star tower. Take a look at the observation tower on top of the building. That's the highest point in town, and it once played a special part in Estonian history. On 24 February 1989, the Estonian flag was raised in public for the very first time, right up there. Quite a role for such a modest building.
