You're standing at Yazılıkaya, the holy place of the Hittites. The name is Turkish for inscribed rock, and it fits. Look around at the grey outcrops. Tucked between them are two natural chambers open to the sky, and their walls are covered with carved gods. Art historians see this as the most important group of rock reliefs in all of Hittite art.
