You're standing at Kuressaare Castle, on the Estonian island of Saaremaa. Quite a solid block, isn't it? It's late Gothic and very simple in form: a square building around a central courtyard. In the northern corner, the defence tower rises 37 metres. It's considered one of the best preserved medieval fortifications in Estonia.
