Archaeological site Ukonkivi in Inari

You're looking at Ukko, or Ukonsaari, a small rocky island in the middle of Lake Inari, far up in Finnish Lapland. Take in its shape for a moment. It rises about thirty metres out of the water, yet it's only around a hundred metres long and fifty metres wide. A steep hump of stone, all alone in a huge lake. It's easy to see why people felt something special here.
