Cape Tainaro in Municipality of East Mani

You're standing at Cape Matapan, also known as Cape Tainaron or Taenarum, right at the tip of the Mani Peninsula. This is the southernmost point of mainland Greece, and the second southernmost point of mainland Europe. To the west lies the Messenian Gulf, to the east the Laconian Gulf. Look up for a moment, too: the cape is on the migration route of birds heading to Africa.
