You're standing at Stolzenfels Castle, on the left bank of the Rhine, just above the part of Koblenz that took its name from the castle. First, look across the river. That's where the Lahn flows into the Rhine, and on the slope you'll spot Lahneck Castle. It once marked the northern edge of the territory of Mainz. This castle belonged to the neighbours, the archbishops of Trier.
