You're standing on the cathedral square in Bergamo, in front of the Colleoni Chapel. It's built right up against the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore. Start with the façade. It's inlaid with white, red and black marble in a pattern of diamonds. Above the door there's a big rose window, with a statue on top. On either side you'll spot two medallions showing Julius Caesar and the emperor Trajan. The message is hard to miss: the man buried here wanted to be seen alongside Roman emperors.
