You're standing at the Castle of Gormaz, high on a hill above the Duero river. Just look at the length of that wall. It follows the ridge of the hill and runs for about a kilometre in total. From one end to the other, the fortress stretches some 380 metres. When it went up here in 965, it was probably the largest fortress in Europe.
