You're standing on the Pic de Nore, or Nòra in Occitan. At 1,211 metres, this is the highest point of the Montagne Noire, the Black Mountain, in southern France. The border between two departments runs right across this summit, with the Aude on one side and the Tarn on the other. The Haut-Languedoc regional nature park starts close by.
