Archaeological site Kyzikos in Erdek

You're standing among the remains of Cyzicus, once a Greek city, on the road between Erdek and Bandırma. The land around you is uninhabited but farmed, and the spot is known as Bal-Kiz. The city lay on the landward side of the Kapıdağ Peninsula. According to tradition, that peninsula was once an island in the Sea of Marmara, only joined to the mainland in historical times.
