You're standing on the site of Vindonissa, near the Swiss town of Windisch. Two thousand years ago this was a big Roman legion camp, full of soldiers, gates and watchtowers. The name probably comes from a Gaulish word for white. Today the remains are listed as a heritage site of national significance.
