You're standing in Yakapınar, a quiet village on the Ceyhan River, about twenty kilometres east of Adana. Hard to believe, but this was once Mopsuestia, a city that empires and armies fought over for centuries. Take a look at the river first. The Greeks called it the Pyramus. From the city's harbour, boats could sail more than forty kilometres downstream, all the way to the Mediterranean.
