Eraclea Minoa in Cattolica Eraclea

You're standing at Heraclea Minoa, an ancient Greek city on the south coast of Sicily. Have a look around. The city sits on top of a headland now called Capo Bianco. On the sea side, brilliant white chalk cliffs drop straight down. On the other side, the land slopes gently into the valley of the Platani river, which meets the sea just nearby. A great spot to defend, and that was exactly the point.
