You're standing at Los Millares, on a hill above the spot where the Rambla de Huechar meets the Rio Andarax. Have a look around at this dry, bare landscape. More than five thousand years ago it looked very different. The rivers carried more water, and archaeologists think the vegetation was almost tropical. People grew grapes and olives here.
