You're standing at the Veste Coburg, one of the best-preserved medieval fortresses in Germany. You've earned this view, because the castle sits on a hill some 167 meters above the town. No wonder it has dominated Coburg for centuries. Take in the size of the place. The complex measures roughly 135 by 260 meters, and yet in Germany it only counts as a medium-sized fortress.
