You're standing on top of Mont Sainte-Odile, a peak of just over 760 metres in the Vosges Mountains of Alsace. Around you are the buildings of Hohenburg Abbey, and beyond them a mixed forest. People have loved this spot for a long time. Since at least the nineteenth century, travel guides have praised the beauty of this mountain.
