You're standing at Žiča Monastery, just outside the Serbian town of Kraljevo. This is one of the most important places in Serbian history. Take a look at the church in front of you. It's built of stone and brick, with a dome over the centre and a big rounded apse at the eastern end. That's the Raška style, though the Byzantine influence is everywhere. And notice the colour? Those walls are a striking red.
