Schloss Artstetten in Artstetten-Pöbring

You're standing at Artstetten Castle, in Lower Austria, right near the Wachau valley. It looks calm and welcoming, but this is where one of the most famous couples of the twentieth century is buried: Archduke Franz Ferdinand and his wife Sophie. Their assassination was the immediate trigger for the First World War.
