You're standing at Bouillon Castle, high above the little town and the river Semois. Look at how it sits on a long rocky ridge, inside a sharp bend of the river, which flows past on two sides. That rock is about 340 metres long and only 40 metres wide, and the castle rises fifty metres above the water. You could hardly dream up a better spot for a fortress.
