Castrul Roman Porolissum in Creaca

You're standing at Porolissum, once a Roman city on the very edge of the empire. Today you mostly see hills, grass and old walls. Yet this is one of the largest and best-preserved Roman sites in Romania. Take a look at the big gate. That's the Porta Praetoria, the main entrance to the stone fort. It has been rebuilt, so you can get a feel for how impressive this place once was.
