You're standing at Magdeburg Cathedral, officially the Cathedral of Saints Maurice and Catherine. It's one of the oldest Gothic churches in Germany. Look up at the two west towers. The south one is 99.25 metres tall, the north one 100.98 metres, which puts them among the tallest church towers in eastern Germany.
