Santa Cristina de Lena

You're standing at Santa Cristina de Lena, a small church in the municipality of Lena, about twenty-five kilometres south of Oviedo. It's a fine example of Asturian pre-Romanesque architecture, a style you'll find almost nowhere else but this region. And it isn't here by chance. The church sits on an old Roman road that once linked Spain's central plateau with Asturias.
