Castle Stari grad Dubovac in Grad Karlovac

You're standing at Dubovac, the castle that looks out over the city of Karlovac. Start with the square tower. It's probably the oldest part, most likely built in the thirteenth century. According to the castle's own guide materials, the fortress sits on a hill that people built up themselves. That gave it the best defences and the widest views. Turn around and take in the countryside. That view was the whole point.
