You're standing at Steinsdalsfossen, a waterfall at Øvsthus, on the eastern edge of the village of Steine. It goes by two other names as well: Øvsthusfossen and Øfsthusfossen. The larger village of Norheimsund, on the Hardangerfjord, is about two kilometres to the east. Go on, look up. The water drops forty-six metres in total, with a main plunge of around twenty metres. Hear that rumble? This is one of the most visited sights in all of Norway.
