You're standing on the hill of Numantia, known as Cerro de la Muela, in the municipality of Garray, about seven kilometres north of the town of Soria. In ancient times a Celtiberian town stood right here. Take a look around and you'll see why. From this hilltop, its people controlled a crossing over the river Duero.
