You're standing at the Lofotr Viking Museum, in the little village of Borg on the island of Vestvågøya, right in the middle of the Lofoten islands. Take a look around. More than a thousand years ago, this landscape was home to a Viking chieftain. Now look up at the hill. That huge building on top is a longhouse. It's eighty-three metres long, nine and a half metres wide and nine metres high. That's a house as long as a decent street.
