You're standing at the Hofburg in Innsbruck, the former palace of the Habsburgs. Together with the Hofburg and Schönbrunn in Vienna, it counts as one of the three most important cultural buildings in Austria. Start with the long, pale main façade on Rennweg. It only got its elegant Baroque look between 1766 and 1773, on the orders of Empress Maria Theresa. Her court architect Nikolaus Pacassi had also remodelled Schönbrunn.
